"Regional Extension Centers are being established aross the country. The REC's offer technical assistance, guidance, and information on best practices to support and accelerate health care providers’ efforts to become meaningful users of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). There are an estimated 70 regional centers, each serving a defined geographic area.

How It Works?
Large Hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) have several facilities and care settings. These in turn may have more than one different EHRs as well as other clinical systems. Furthermore, these types of organizations may be acquiring newer facilities with disparate clinical systems environments.
