"Regional Extension Centers are being established aross the country. The REC's offer technical assistance, guidance, and information on best practices to support and accelerate health care providers’ efforts to become meaningful users of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). There are an estimated 70 regional centers, each serving a defined geographic area.
The HealthUnity solution for REC's helps MSO's (Managed Service Organization) achieve meaningful use by integrating between the EHRs they plan on supporting."
How It Works?
RECs can deploy an HIE that connects all of their providers.
The MSOs, on behalf of the RECs can deploy HIEs for their subset of providers and then connect their HIEs together to interoperate.
