LifeBridge Health and Saint Agnes Hospital partner to bridge health record divide with first hospital-to-hospital HIE in Maryland
Credited as being Maryland's frst operational hospital-to-hospital HIE, LifeBridge Health and Saint
Agnes Hospital selected HealthUnity to power their regional HIE. LifeBridge Health and Saint Agnes Hospital
have previously invested in electronic medical record and clinical decision support systems to improve patient
care. The HIE project, a successful proof-of-concept linking consumers and health care providers was funded
signifcantly by CareFirst Blue Cross BlueShield and LifeBridge Health and is the frst in a statewide effort
to bridge health information gaps between hospitals through electronic health information exchange.

Baltimore Health Information Exchange
The HealthUnity-powered Baltimore Health Information Exchange, founded by Erickson
Health Medical Group and St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD is credited as being
Maryland’s first operational health information exchange. The exchange allows for
full, bi-directional integration with on-site EHR systems while having a minimal
impact on existing physician workflows. The HIE founders benefit from an estimated
value of $263,000 per year delivered by the HIE.
